Exploring undergraduate research
Scieneering student Meghan Canter is spending her summer researching BacteriaBots with an interdisciplinary team of faculty mentors - one from the Department of Biological Sciences and one from the Department of Mechanical Engineering. She will present her work at the Joint Summer Research Symposium in August 2012.
Summer busier than ever
Enrollment numbers for both summer sessions climb and campus gets ready to host its first-ever Virginia Tech Summer Academy.
Engaged Student
Recent mechanical engineering graduate, Madison Farruggia, solidified her passion for the subject by getting involved in undergraduate research and joining Virginia Tech's Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Team, which she will represent as team captain this summer.
Three of a kind
The Chegin triplets - Matt, Mike, and Chris - experienced everything together at Virginia Tech: the same major, classes, teaching assistant position, research projects, dorm, car, and more. Now, the graduates are moving on to their own separate careers.
Engaged Student
Honors student and Goldwater Scholar, Winston Becker, keeps busy maintaining a 3.98 GPA (out of 4.0). Beyond that, the engineering student is deeply involved in undergraduate research and community service.
Explore campus life
Incoming freshman for the 2012-13 academic year have a unique opportunity. Instead of coming to campus in the fall, they can enroll in Virginia Tech Summer Academy and get a jump-start on their college experience.
Innovative ideas
More than 100 undergraduate students participated in the 10th annual Undergraduate Research and Prospective Graduate Student Conference held on April 19, 2012. Through oral and poster sessions, students shared a diverse set of research topics and creative scholarship.
