VT-UCC Research Experience for Undergraduates at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana.

Welcome to the website of the Summer Research Experiences for Undergraduates Program at the University of Cape Coast in Ghana. The program is funded by the National Science Foundation through Virginia Tech. The primary goal of this program is to engage motivated undergraduates in carefully selected research projects in sub-Sahara Africa towards extending their educational experiences at the global level. The areas of emphasis are ecology, environmental science and conservation biology. Participants will be immersed in the Ghanaian culture to provide them a meaningful experience in a stable West African country with an enormous selection of flora and fauna. Each year, seven students and a high school teacher will be selected to participate in the program. This website is designed to provide information about the program. Use the navigation on the left to read about past year's programs, an overview of the program and the application to the program.
